It's a tax which you can go to prison for not paying , I don't watch or listen to the BBC why should I be taxed on it?

I don't pay the TV licence.

I'm not going to contibute towards the government's financial backing of trash like Eastenders, Casualty, Flog It!, celebrity dancing competitons and pop music radio.

I want no part in the dumbing down of the population with such cheap and nasty rubbish, and won't pay for others to enjoy it any more than I'd help them buy other junk like cigarettes, super strength lager or burgers and chips.

To my understanding there is no actual law to say you have to pay for a TV license and the money for the license goes to a private company!

People have been fined £1000 for not having a TV licence which is required BY LAW if you view live TV broadcasts from any station or service provider.

The post refers to someone who does not watch live TV.
He doesn't therefore need a licence.

Wrong. You have to have a licence if you own a TV set or another device that allows you to watch live TV. You don't actually have to watch it to be caught!
