BBC

Not joking on this I have near enough stopped watching TV altogether, and especially I do have any use for the BBC and all of their programmes due to mostly their coverage on City. It does mean jack shit as they will continue regardless.

Public service broadcasting benefits everyone. You may not be interested in the BBC Asian network but your neighbour might. You might be able to afford £50 for Sky but your poorer neighbours may rely on Match of the Day. Your small contribution benefits people less fortunate than yourself. It's the progressive principle of everyone contributing towards a shared resource for the nation as a whole.

Even if you never use any BBC service its very presence still benefits you because it frees TV and radio from the narrow concern of advertisers. It produces a range and breadth of broadcasting that means there is something for everyone.

It's no surprise that those who seek its abolition are fearful of a national media organisation that seeks to educate and doesn't reduce everything to the lowest common denominator.

Wow, you really do know how to generalise and slag everyone off that doesn't agree with you. I love the 'seeks to educate' bit, is that The One Show or perhaps Bargain Hunt.
You really have a low opinion of anyone who doesn't like the BBC.

I don’t believe anyone who says they have no use for the BBC.

Why not ? I can't think of anything they do that I would deliberately make sure I was available to watch or at least record. I find radio 1 DJ's in the main childish, (bar Clara Anfo) radio 2 is still stuck in the 70's with appalling DJ's, Radio 3 is shite compared to Classic fm, 4 is watered down rubbish etc etc. But as Pace89 has already slagged me off and put me in my place I will go back to sitting in the corner whilst th educated few tune in to Question Time. (that's the one that gives a platform to a racist and allows her to spew bile live on the BBC)

It boils down to choice. Love it or loathe it, there is no choice currently. There should be.

Yeah, there’s choice. Just like there is for health care, or schools. For both those I can go private, or fee paying,
if I choose to.

I watch the news, motd, I listen to the radio and use the IPlayer a lot - whilst its floored, I like it

Floors are not reasons to get rid of things that we may potentially live to regret, like the EU perhaps. Floors are an indication that it may be behind the times and a grown up conversation is needed to how to improve it and the benefits it gives every single one of us

I certainly would let this lot who govern by slogan anywhere near the concept of getting rid of it

The BBC is just a mouthpiece for the Lambeth Labour Party, a propoganda vehicle for a socialist politically correct gulag.

Farage has been in Question Time more times than I’ve had hot dinners. I didn’t realise he’s been spouting Labour Party policy all this time.....

you prick.
You admit you listen to the radio!
In fact you listen to more stations than I do!

Run by the Metropolitan elite who are all remainiacs, anything bad about Brexit they were like a dog with a bone couldn’t drop it and they were never impartial during the referendum vote when they should have been
