Why can't they they would just stick to the white with sash, claret or red and black stripes? At a push we could have some varieties on the white shirt as a third kit.

Imagine winning our first trophy in a navy kit, that would be ridiculous.

There's definitely no issue with having a sky blue home kit and a dark blue away kit as we've done it before.

But I doubt we'd be allowed a black GK kit with a dark blue outfield kit. That's definitely a clash. So I'll believe you about the away kit, but suggest you might be mistaken about the GK kit.

I see little point in having an away kit in that case.

Everton away - white kit
Chelsea away - white kit
Birmingham away - white kit
Blackburn away - who knows it's - blue, blue or white errrmmm...
Wigan away - your guess is as good as mine

The only teams a dark blue kit would be any use against (and maroon useless) are villa and west ham - white kit

To me 2 shades of blue for two kits does not make sense - Blackburn tried it one season and it was a disaster.

right here goes......wish this could have waited until after 1000 posts but never mind. don't care about any shit i get for this for claiming to be ITK, but here goes.

i know for certain that the new away will be the midnight blue touted for a long time. it will have a sort of turquoise coloured sponsor and a black goalie kit. the zinfandel gear is just training kit. as usual with these stories, i would be getting someone in trouble if i said how i knew.

if i'm wrong, then may i be mocked mercilessly for ever on this forum. but i'm right, and for the first time ever, i can claim to be ITK!!!

I simply mean in terms of how little it'd be used and how much more the 3rd shirt would used. With the other teams in the league and their colours it's not practical to have a dark blue away top, regardless of whether it's been done before (different teams with different colours).

Wasn't the white one only used three times last year? Something like that anyway. They don't care. Of course we only need two kits, it's just a money-making scheme.

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that the white kit will become the 2nd shirt and the new one will become the 3rd shirt. It'll probably get a run out against Spurs and Bolton as they like to pretend that white clashes with sky blue when we have a completely unnecessary 3rd kit that needs to be used.
