Beckham

Ive got respect for him as a player and for what he has achieved in his career but if hes a legend then what are the actual legends ?
A legend would of got us past the quarters of the world cup.

did you watch the game, as it appears you didnt see his quality bit of skill to BEAT HIS MAN and put carlton cole in 1 v 1 or his quality pass to SWP which lead to another great opening possibly two of are best moments of the night? drill bit
 
I personally can't stand Beckham. His stupidity got us knocked out of the World Cup in 98, and as a 10 year old when that happened (as well as him being a cockney rag) made me despise him.

He stands for globalisation. He's a celebrity more than a footballer. He contradicts himself in interviews all the time as well. Money grabbing twat.

But, he has been a great footballer. Legend? Nope. Anywhere near the likes of Moore etc.? Nope. Should he still be in the England squad? Well, if you ask me who are the 22 best English footballers at present, David would be in there.

He shouldn't have as many caps as he does in my opinion because in the years 2003-2007 he was NOWHERE near good enough. But as captain, he could not be dropped.

The guy is overrated & over-hyped. You only have to look at his impact on a game in MLS (I'm talking about an actual contribution on the pitch rather than the marketing). As a marquee player in a pretty poor league, by European standards, he's been very disappointing - other players such as Blanco (?) have had a bigger impact on the pitch - but then again he is a flair player where as Beckham isn't. Beckham can't beat a man with a bit of skill & he doesn't get you out of your seat like, say, Robinho or Kaka or Gio could. He has a good delivery of the ball (but so does Fed Ex or the Royal Mail!!!) & is a good team player but not a stand out player - how many top international teams would he get into currently? I think it was George Best who best summed him up - "He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right."
 
Beckham = Most over hyped, over rated one dimensional player EVER!

No left foot, no pace, can't defend, can't head, can't take on players...The list goes on. Stop the game and we might see something...Just maybe, or he could slip...

Yeah right mate ,that's why you turned down AC Milan 18 months ago to go and play for LA Galaxy against the Las Vegas Lion Bars ,you tried to convince everyone that it was a footballing decision.

Beckham is a legend no question. He has done a lot for british sport. He is not a footballing great though - what pisses me off is that he may have the same caps as BM but they give em away - yesterday was a sympathy cap so he could equal the record.

When he came on he shoved Sweep to the left, and fucked up the balance of the team as thay all changed to fit in with him - fookin Rag cnut.
 
I hate the thick twat. I hate his anorexic tomato sucking wife, his kids fucking ridiculous names and the fact he's got a perfume out. Puff

He used to be good, but passed it now IMO. Possibly a decent sub, but that's all.
