The names are placeholders for the types of players we should get. I generally avoided players already on top teams. As getting those are tough. But Chelsea might be a trove for goodies as they have a hoard of talented young players and they can't keep all of the them happy. Andrey at Strasbourg will be one of be highly interested in taking.

As a general rule. Young players currently hitting their prime this season with potential to be greater.is the key

I'm not very fond of interest in short term 28-29 yearold guys who are a year or 2 away from a dip. Be patient and build with young superb talent.

So Bruno Guimarres is of no interest for me to give an example.

Interesting and brave, the first poster to say no. I have noted you have added the caveat long term so I assume, maybe incorrectly, that Pep to start the rebuild but you don’t think he will be here to finish the rebuild?

When the end is coming, id rather prepare rather than pretend and hope..

I don't think Pep is the future. I sense he might even leave at the end of the season anyway. So gets 2 to 3 players in January and try to make a fight of the season and the cups ( whichever is remaining come January and then call it quits.

For me, id rather he doesn't go get players like Bruno Guimares and the like to salvage the season. If he is to start the rebuild or tweak, do it with a 4-5 year plan in mind even if he plans to stay only one more year or even quit at season's end.

To avoid that unknown, I'd rather we decide now that the new guy ( and mostly the front office) will be in charge of the rebuild.

I hear you. I actually agree with most of your points, except I hope it isn’t 4 to 5 years for the rebuild/plan. Although it would mean we can get younger players in with big potential (cheaper) and develop them if we had a longer plan.

My mistake, I expect the rebuild to be complete come next summer. By 4-5 years, I meant a rebuilt to make a run the next 4 to 5 years.

That means a core of Dias, Rodri, Haaland, Foden , Bobb. Plus the new additions will all be in their relative primes for the next 4-5 years. So between 21-26 is the magic range. I want players about to enter their prime not players at the end of their best years.

Damn, Bruno G missing the Dax77 approval age by 3 weeks. unlucky lad.

Fair enough. He is probably young enough. I just have a feeling about him. He has all the attributes of a 'plug the hole' buy that would turn out to be disappointing. Shades of Garcia or the Octopus. Someone we wanted a year before but should have moved on from when it didn't happen but didn't.

Just a guess on my part

1. Yes
2. Walker, Ederson, Gundogan, Grealish, Silva, Stones, Akanji, Ake, Nunes, De bruyne
3. Good question, Rodri.
4. I'd assume Viana
5. No time to wait unless we wanna finish 10th.
6. Alot it should seem considering that we made most profit on player sales in the whole world, after Benfica.
7. Hold out until january (hopefully)
Akanji ? What’s he done wrong apart from get an unfortunate injury. He’s really solid at centre back and full back, less so when Pep asks him to go walkabout. He’s a keeper.

1 - Should Pep be in charge of the rebuild?

I think Pep isn't the long term future of the club sadly. I will be surprised if he is still here in 2 years to be honest. If his hearts in it, let him build for the next guy.

2 - Which players should be moved on in 2025?

Walker, Gundogan, Stones, KdB, Lewis, Kovacic. They are just too old or not good enough. Ederson is on thin ice with me too. Controversial one... IF a collosal fee was offered for Haaland AND Pep is the manager I might listen. Haaland is a phenomenal player but I think he's not a Pep player despite the records. We have a striker who's either boiling hot or barely touching the ball.

3 - Which players should be offered new contracts?

Rodri if fully fit, Dias, Gvardiol, Akanji, Ake - he is our best defender when fit.

3b - What players should we be targetting?

I think we need to bring in some pace and power across the team but we need a LB, RB, 2 centre mids and a forward as a minimum.

4 - Who is making the decisions for the rebuild, i.e. Txiki or Hugo Viana

Viana will have new ideas and Portugal is always a good source of players who do well in the PL.

5 - How will the 115 PL charges decision and other outside influences reflect on the rebuild. Do we wait until after the decision of the independent commission?

My nasty gut feeling is the drop in form is related to the charges. The players know the outcome and so does Pep. He really looks in mental pain at the minute.I also think the top players won't come till this is decided.

6 - what sort of figures do we realistically have to spend on a rebuild?

We don't have much value in the ones to sell. I would expect 250m to 300m including sales.

7 - With the bad form we are in, how as fans can we help the club?

Other than support the team, I really don't know.
