This is from the Office of National Statistics and shows net migration did increase slightly but remains roughly constant when the Tories came into power for the first 2 years.

To say Labour controlled immigration 'better' though is a dubious thing to say though really. They've probably done about as well as eachother in that respect.

Been here 10 years and I'm still English through and through. (Although my dad's a paddy) I love the Cypriot culture, language, way of life etc... but when it comes to footy, going to the pub, going round to your mates for a few beers or a trip out in the country to get away from it all, Cyprus isn't even in my thoughts. although going for good meze and a pissup, England isn't even in my thoughts. I dunno, I'm confused.

I'd rather be Scottish, Welsh or Irish than a southerner so the idea of being English doesn't really mean much to me.

none of them sound like good options tbf

This is why I see myself as British more than English, I feel more akin to the Scots, Welsh and irish than I do to southeners

Think I'll stick with Mancunian/ Lancastrian (pre-1974 version) ta.

I certainly don't relate to ''British'' when no other home nation seems to value it and even the governing party in Scotland wants out of the ''UK''.

I dont care what the present incumbents believe or want, I value being British (and so do millions of Irish Welsh & Scots) I hope the union stays together.
