Do you remember that interview with Ed Miliband during his election campaign on Newsnight?
He was accused by Paxman of not being tough. So he paused for a second, composed himself then leaned forward and started pointing at Paxman, talking vaguely confrontational. The audience burst out laughing. It was the most clichéd performative action I've ever seen from a politician and everybody there saw it for the PR trained fake reaction it was.
That's exactly what Carrick is going to do. He's going to be full of PASHUN because he'll be told that he needs to be. It will completely fake and everybody will see through him but I bet you this is what he does. He'll be dancing around in the touchline like the Fairy Godmother in a panto.

It's not failure Kaz. Our job is to keep the manager in place just long enough for the rot to continue, but not long enough for them to actually change anything for the better. Then repeat.

This is why I don't ever want them relegated - the potential for a seismic event to really change things.
