Bell, Lee and Summerbee statue | Unveiled (pg19)

the timeline pics around the ground and memorial garden are fitting enough for me maybe when the whole area is redeveloped they could have some tributes along the walkways, If we do have a statue how about a colossus of rhodes sized one of ricky holden where b of the bang was

You can understand the rags honouring Fergie , he's been there 26 years , he's a one-off , and he IS Manchester United .... no matter what David Gill , Bobby Charlton or the Glazers think!

And it doesn't matter who follows him there , NOBODY will better the amount of trophies that he's won for them.

As for City , now isn't really the time for statues , more for building empires .....

but one day it could be !

Hope its RM after leading us to twelve titles but I know I its wishful thinking.

Well you never know ....

Mancini reckons he won't be here for twenty years .....

but he MIGHT well be here for twelve !

But why them three? No disrespect to them, all really good players, but my Dad said Neil Young was much better than Summerbee plus Alan Oakes and Mike Doyle were just as important to City as Lee and Summerbee. Also, for me, that team gets a little bit too much adulation...or should I say, other teams and other players from our history get too little adulation because they weren't around when television was in the homes of many like never before from the 1960s onwards.

There may be twenty other players from our history just as deserving of a statue as well as those three.

I like the Mercer mosaic for something different. Few more of those scattered around the ground would be good.

No statue's thank you.

I think the 'Mercer' mosaic is both superb and unique.
Idea's like this are better than statue's.

No statues,if we are going to recognise our legends lets do it in a less tacky way more befitting of our club.

We should put memorable Jamie Pollock quotes around the spirals, that would be a nod towards our history. Only the true blues would recognise the quotes as well so the new fans wouldn't appreciate the memories.
Who is this Jamie Pollock that you speak of?

Oh god a newbie.......don't make me mention York away!!!!!!
Or THAT Mansfield game!

I've said it before, instead of statues around the ground i would rather statues, memorials, tributes etc were dotted around the new academy and training complex, as part of the landscaping.

fans should be able to walk around the facilities with trees and green spaces around them and also passing various statues and tributes. kind of like an outdoor museum

Don't believe everything your dad tells you.....Great player was Young but much better than Buzzer, no chance.
