Hi Bully ;)
Being led by Malcolm Glazernow for Rock of Gibraltar
It’s always been “Bell, Lee & Summerbee”Colin should be in the middle.
WOW he did look bad there and I didn`t recognise him either. Glad he was around to hear about their statues being commissioned and wonderful for all three families and well deserved. No it was Franny.
They're all remembered. The statue contains the names of all the players who appeared in games during the 1967-68 season and the FA Cup, League Cup and ECWC winning teams. It's so appropriate. Unfortunately, we can't have statues to them all but this is great recognition from the club. I was fortunate enough to be there today and have a few photos here:The whole 67/68 team deserves a statue, but in truth Bell, Lee and Summerbee were the most famous.
Those of us who were there will never forget the others. Skip, Doyle, Young, Oakes, Pardoe - just as deserving but not as 'famous'.
Things like this just make me love this club even more (if that was possible)
Originally in the museum. I commissioned it when we set up the museum in 2003. It cost £2000 and was done by sculptor Kari Furre who used real football clothing, boots etc. over a base figure. She sprayed it all with a special fabric hardener. It's made for indoors. We had other figures in the museum - one of Colin Bell and two of fans (representing climbing into the stadium in 1934's record crowd and staying loyal during late 1990s. Not certain what happened to the fan figures but both Bell and Trautmann are there.I didn't know about this....
