And the better option, in my opinion.World record fee and Ben Chilwell shouldn’t be even in the same sentence. Fuck that. Tierney from Celtic would the cheaper alternative.

I don't really get the hype, there is no challenge in Scotland and in Europe he may have had one or two performances but Celtic get knocked out straight away. Unless he would cost 10-15mil (which he won't) its a huge risk and one the club won't take.I reckon Kieran Tierney is worth a look at. Solid, good in the attack, has performed well in Europe for Celtic and he'd be a whole lot cheaper than Chilwell.
When you sign a young player with potential it's always going to be a risk to a certain extent. I think it could be a viable option. I know the Scottish Premiership is lacking on the quality front but you only need to look at some of the players that have come from there and made it big in recent years. Robertson, Van Dijk and Wanyama are some examples. I just think in today's transfer market with the inflated transfer fees etc, it'd be foolish not to consider him.I don't really get the hype, there is no challenge in Scotland and in Europe he may have had one or two performances but Celtic get knocked out straight away. Robertson amd Alexander Arnold are evidence that as long as you have pace and energy you are a good enough full back in the modern game. Walker has that and whilst not being the best footballer or defender he does a job for us. We shouldn't be paying world record fees for Chilwell, another player with pace and energy can do that job the way Pep wants us to.
Spend the money elsewhere.
If they were looking for SPL talent level prices then he'd be worth a gamble, but by all accounts they're looking for proven Champions League level world class left back prices. When you sign a young player with potential it's always going to be a risk to a certain extent. I really hope we're not looking at Chilwell but seeing that Txiki and Khaldoon didn't think VVD was worth £75m last season I doubt they'll pay anywhere near similar money for Chilwell. If that's the case then why would we be looking at Chilwell?
and what makes you say Mendy is such an amazing LB? because he was garbage at Anfield when we drew 0-0.
and how do you know it's nonsense converting a position? are you a Sunday Pub Team Manager? I'd rather go with what Pep does than you tbh.
Yeah, can't imagine Chilwell is the best option out there in terms of transfer fees, even in terms of actual ability.I really hope we're not looking at Chilwell but seeing that Txiki and Khaldoon didn't think VVD was worth £75m last season I doubt they'll pay anywhere near similar money for Chilwell.
