This government have just gone too far now!
They are expecting benefit claimants who get 100% of their Council Tax paid free to contribute between £100 & £200 per year from now on.

Do they not realise or will they never realise that people have to pay for fags, booze, scratch cards, dope and other essentials out of their state sponsored handouts?!

Enough is enough!

I'm not a supporter of people on benefits who are fit & well enough to work but this government always will target the poor whilst leaving the super rich to take more

Never really understood that argument, a lazy bastard that's fit to contribute to society decides no, and takes all his benefits and rapes the system and the working people, however someone that decides to work extremely hard and pays more tax than the majority, you think should support this lazy twat ??? You very very rarely get rich without hard work !

I feel sorry for someone that has lost their job in these tough times, and they deserve these benefits, it's the lazy twats that can't be arsed that make me puke

It isn't just benefit claimants, as in people out of work. The lowest paid will also be hit hard. Particularly single, working parents, who've already had their working tax credit slashed and in many cases, stopped altogther.

Sure it will all be the good old Tories, heroically trying to clear up the mess that Labout left them in though.

I would love to know if anyone who spurts out the daily mail tripe about booze fags tellys and ipads actually knows how much benifit is for people who don't fiddle the disability or who are not moonlighting or selling drugs. Cos believe me, as someone who has had to use the system in the past, it is not a great deal of money. Most proud working people who find themselves out of work and are to honest to take the piss, have to scrape by on very little handout. The rent is rarely coverd by HB so that shortfall comes from the JSA and now they want people to pay council tax!? The mess this country is in is NOT the the fault of the average unemployed woman or man and the tories and their right wing media pals are disgraceful for suggesting it subtly and not so subtly.on occasions. Don't believe the hype!

Which is pretty sad tbh.

Probably is true for a lot on here and this well descend in to the normal benefit/tory/rich/kill type thread but for me its the people that make it a lifestyle choice. I dont know how many people is but I would never begrudge the man who has lost his job or the disabled that cannot work getting there money, its what its there for.

I thought this only happened if the local council hadn't paid attention to their finances and had a bit of a shortfall regarding paying for said services.

In Manchesters case, if this ever happened, I'd take the shortfall from the pockets of the men in charge, a lot of whom appear to be on well over 100k a year.
