He was poor tonight along with all the full backs that played for either side. I’m putting it down to the state of the pitch and hopefully he’s back to normal on a Sunday

He'd have been better if he'd put a Spurs shirt on from the start. Certainly would have caused less confusion knowing he was playing for them rather than pretending to be our full back. Can't say I seen a poorer performance in our team for maybe 10 years. The good news is he'll never play that poorly again, ..... I think!

He wasn't class against Liverpool he still got caught out a couple of times but unusually the game was very cagey so he didn't have much to do. Poor defensively at Arsenal,very poor at Wolves and worse tonight. Basically any team who have attacked us a bit he's struggled against.

Why do you think the game was cagey? Cos Liverpool's best player didn't get a sniff against MendyHe wasn't class against Liverpool he still got caught out a couple of times but unusually the game was very cagey so he didn't have much to do. I'm afraid defensively he will always be a problem. He just doesn't seem to get it. Even on lamela chance he wasn't busting a gut to get back. Now if he was ripping it up at the other end of the pitch you could almost forgive that side of his game but he was no better that end. Bad night for him, and its not the first time either. His positioning was really poor all night and he pulled out of a challenge that he waa clear favourite for. Must do better.

we clearly overpaid for him. but we had no negotiation position, could have pursued cheaper alternative who would have better positioning though
looks like mangala too often for my liking. against wolves and arsenal looked like that too. he also has the kind of personality that would fit better in at united to be honest.
