Yeah right, the medical team will have a say too.
There won't be a rush back for sure.

The guy has a very positive attitude to life. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be targeting to return for us this season and be involved in the WC.
Back for the derby when we'll be presented with the premier league trophy... I'm sure he'd make it entertaining!
ACL injuries are so tough because the recovery is psychologically and physically demanding. It's a very long and difficult road. Some athletes are just freaks and are able to come back from an ACL tear relatively quickly. For most, however, it's more of an 18-24 month injury even though you can return to normal activity in 9-12. It just seems to take a while to be able to return to top physical ability and to fully trust your body again. Mendy is young and seems to have the right attitude so here's to hoping it's the former.
In the past tearing an ACL was so feared because it made it significantly (I think somewhere around 5-10x) more likely it would re-tear again in the future. I believe those odds have gotten better recently, but it is still an injury that has a nasty habit of reoccurring. I wonder if Mendy will have to wear a brace like this for the rest of his playing days. Many NFL and basketball players coming off the injury wear them during games/practice after returning, but I haven't seen them in European football (although that could just be ignorance on my end)
