Pretty devastating to the way we have been playing so far this season but we've had injuries before. The team adapts, players step up. If the loss of one player send the whole team off course then it will show how fragile the squad was.

I think we'll be fine and delph danilo and any other january signing will more than cover.

Any calls for a short term recall for sagna? Will be very short of match fitness I assume but is he still not playing anywhere since the release

Club says it's a rupture, is that different from a torn ACL. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part. Gutted as he made a massive difference in the games he played so far. We have some really bad luck with injuries. This is a big dent in our title challenge. Pissed off now, off to the Pub. :-(

The terms “tear” and “rupture” are often interchanged when speaking about damage to tendons and other body parts. A common question we are asked is “what are the differences between a tear and a rupture?” Surprisingly, there are no differences between a complete tear and a rupture. However, a tear can be partial or complete.

Out of interest how did you do yours. Mendy's the challenge itself was pretty innocuous , does that have any impact on the severity of the tear/rupture or can it be just as bad as something that looks really horrific at the time?

How it's done doesn't matter to be honest, impact injuries could damage surrounding cartilage or other parts of the knee but a rupture is a rupture.

For context, I did my first playing football, high pressing the defence just chasing the ball down, changed direction quickly and my body moved but left knee didnt. Pop. I was a good 5 yards away from anyone. Did my right playing five a side, setting myself to volley a ball until a defender got a slight touch which made me adjust my position quickly and leg just gave way completely. That was a 25% tear and radial tear of my lateral meniscus in two places. Zero impact whatsoever on both occasions.

Pro's have much more knee muscle to protect the ligaments which can help but it's a delicate ligament which doesn't heal. Even if it is a partial, he'd be far better taking the time to having it sorted properly and reconstructed rather that suture a small tear together and the ligament never retain it's original limited strength.

Has anybody read his twitter feed? Apologies if it has already been discussed but he comments on a couple of months, passing the scan and being able to rotate on one leg!
To me that doesn't sound like a season ending injury nor does it sound like a complete rupture!

Ffs we never seem to get a break over injuries and it’s what has cost us in the past, two of our defensive options injured at the moment, kompany and Mendy obviously Mendy being long term, and always that worry of gundogan breaking down again added to the fact we only have two actual strikers god forbid if one of them picked up an injury.
