Hang on, your last paragraph. The FA suspension him not City.
So the FA stop him from playing for City so shouldn't he be suing the FA and not City. It was the FA that stopped him from playing.
He broke his contract with City as the FA made him unavailable.

An FA suspension does not mean his contract is void, it just means not being able to play football

I thought this from the off once he was cleared in court. Let's be honest if it was one of us in whatever job we do or did we'd want our wages, rightly arguing we were innocent and shouldn't be financially punished for not being able to do our jobs, due to being falsely accused of something.

It is just how the law works. I was once involved in a case where an employee killed a work colleague by driving recklessly. He was bang to rights on video but it dragged on for about 12 months. He was suspended but got paid in full right up to the day he was convicted and then sent to prison.

The most important lesson must be, how do we improve due diligence when forking out huge sums (Mendy £50m+) on players. Clearly a deeply flawed person, why did we not have any idea Mendy was a ticking time bomb.There a risky types eg Mendy, Mario, Tevez and now Jack who off field are/were not always professional. In most cases they cause serious issues down the road. It's a really fine balance to make the right judgement but it's something else we have got to improve. Dare I mention, Ronaldo who was obsessive as an athlete but still ended up settling out of court for alleged rape. Time to draw a line and move.

But he didn't commit a crime? Being a shagger shouldn't mean he gets wrongly accused of a horrible crime and his career and pocket suffer? Being wrongly accused of something is out of his hands surely? Christ if Walker is alright then anybody is.

He was still locked up and unavailable to play. As I v said, no crime has formally been committed and he is legally allowed to claim the pay withheld.

I am looking at it from the clubs perspective. Why should we not receive a transfer fee and why should our good name get tarnished?
