The initial reports earlier in the week from other English sources and French sources stated we had an agreement with Monaco for 39.8m pounds... We'll obviously pay the full 40m

Nope not us. What if you agree a fee first and the player says nahh dont fancy it. Doing this way puts you in the box seat also.

No way we should pay over 39.8 m for him. If they hold out for 40m, we should tell them to f**k off and re-sign Clichy.
