I think both Walker and Mendy are being brought in partly based on their ability to recover when we're caught upfield. Kolarov could never do this and didn't seem to even bother trying at times, that's where the stick he got came from.

For example Zabaleta couldn't recover too well owing to his lack of pace but he'd bust a gut trying.

Don't disagree with that. Walker showed against United his pace is going to be absolutely vital in thwarting counter attacks against us this season which was and will remain our most vulnerable area. The problem with Kolarov seemed to lie with peoples perception of trying. If somebody knows they're not going to make it back, there's really little point in sprinting and wasting energy, especially for a fullback who is required to get up and down more than anybody. Every single player is "guilty" of this on numerous instances, it was just some peoples hatred of Kolarov that made them pick it out as if it was specific to him. To suggest he didn't try was always wrong. 3 seperate managers were more than happy with him and he seemed to be a Pep favourite from the start and we all know that Pep won't tolerate a lack of effort. We all liked to see Zab trying his hardest to get back when it was never happening but in reality it's a poor decision and should have been conserving energy.

Fuck me catching up on the last 20 pages was just painful. People crying about the fee cos their rag mates will takes the piss out of them. Would they rather we just have Dinho as LB all season and win fuck all just so they don't get made fun of?

Ha ha bang on RJ said sumat similar in an earlier rant this morning. Too concerned what their ragdippergooner fan mates and same rag media will say. Thin skinned jokers. Hkw they made it thru 40 years of utter shite and ups and downs and piss taking from all fuckin quarters up until recently I dont know. Seriously how people have woke up one mornin and decided THIS was the season to tighten the purse strings and play it safe I'll nevee fuckin know and will not spend a second more thinkin about. Come on City do what you gotta do how you wanna do it and spend the cash and make ragdipper media and punditd weep with envy!

Not a fuck is given here about the fee for players either, they are only used as a stick to beat you with if you win nothing. We are rebuilding a squad with signings that will potentially stand us in good stead for the next few years. FFP and all the other crap they put in our way has hindered us and allowed other clubs to catch up a bit. Let's hope we do what the richest club in the world should do from here on in and blow them all out of the water. Let the fuckers cry all over the tabloids and social media, fuck them!

Good post , we will get crap from everyone if we spend £30m or £300m so why worry , at least we are not £600m in debt like those f*ckers across the road.

Don't buy that excuse at all. You don't know you won't be able to get back, you should always sprint back. The striker might take a bad touch, get it caught in their feet, just take forever deciding what to do. If you don't sprint back you will never get there, if you do then maybe you manage to get there and put pressure on them. Saving energy is an absolutely terrible excuse for not trying to get back

Sky sports "over £51M", wtf does that mean, is it £51M and threepence? Is this the journalistic equivalent of I am not 9, I am 9 and a fucking quarter? Cunnts
