"£200 milion on a load of crap."
We'll fuckin see about that next year you goon.
Wonder how many teams go long in the Europa League and finish top 4! Either out early or finish 6th.

Whilst waiting for Mendy if anybody wants a laugh read this article https://shewore.com/2017/07/24/arsenal-need-to-spend-big-but-not-waste-money-like-man-city/

One sentence left me speechless "Mendy is a decent player, but again, last season Manchester City had the choice between Gael Clichy and Alex Kolarov. Mendy feels like a step back. No where near as good as Clichy at his peak. It certainly stinks of desperation"
Yes, a deeply thoughtful article - I wonder why he never gave a thought to why Arsenal's best player is so keen to join such a clueless bunch!

Assuming he did his medical as soon as he got to LA he should've signed by now. Alternatively is it possible they let him rest and do the medical the next day, in which case it's more likely to be announced tonight or tomorrow morning?

If they haven't done the medical yet then the announcement won't be today. We've seen from Walker and Silva that a medical takes most of the day, and even if they started at 9am in LA, that'd be 5PM here and the medical would presumably be finished in the UK night.

9 AM announcement LA time would be 5pm here which would sound like a good time if the medical is done.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to do the medical in France before he boarded a gruelling flight to LA?
He'll need a fair bit of rest to be right for a medical over there – if they'd done it beforehand he could just sign on the dotted line after landing, announcement - job done!

You'd think so, but we'd have heard by now if he'd done one.

From the looks of the Walker video, most of the medical is just getting a bunch of scans and medical tests, not so much the classic idea of a guy on a treadmill. Plus Mendy is injured or only just back from injury, so I doubt he's going to get a full work out anyway.

Plus these days a flight to LA isn't that gruelling, especially if you're in business class or above. I went from Heathrow last year, got upgraded to business and spent most of it sleeping like a baby and was ready to go as soon as I arrived, until the jet lag kicked in 8 hours later.

Sorry, wrong thread.

Apart from no CL football, here's another reason why Sanchez wants out.

This shows Wenger and Arsenals intend and lack of ambition to challenge for the PL title next season.

If you consider Arsenal got £145mill in PL prize money last season. Probably another £10mill for winning the FA Cup. £15mill for their CL run. They have the most expensive season tickets and matchday tickets in the PL. Guess a revenue figure. £25mill? All the kit and sponsorship deals, etc. Let's round their transfer spend revenue up to £225mill. Being conservative.

And so far they have spent.

I can hear the Gunners chants again from last season.

"Spend some f***ing money!"
