Benteke would be far more effective in our team than Mario.

Yep. The I see Balotelli is like this. 'I do this, that, the other, some other stuff on top of that, more besides that... oh, and I play football a bit too'.
Benteke, so far, appears to be like a pro and simply loves to play football. I remember him signing on deadline day and the cameras were in his face and he looked absolutely star-struck and very humbled to be in the position he had been put in - a complete contrast to Balotelli. I'd get rid of Balotelli for whatever price the club deem fit, then use it immediately to try and get Benteke in.

The difference is he's Christian Benteke who's arrived with a little-known reputation from Genk, whereas if he was Christian Benteke, £24m signing from Inter Milan who comes with a bad-boy reputation - but still scored the goals he's scored so far - people would take more notice. He's a cracking player.

And before anyone starts, no that's not a dig at Balotelli, it's a reference to how players are perceived.

7 goals in 20 games is half decent but he is their main man which he wouldnt be at a top half side. From what I have seen he gives 100% at all times so would go down well with the Dickov loving style that a lot of our fans seem to prefer. He isn't a bad footballer but isnt great either in that sometimes a lot of his work is aimless. What some pundits might call a lack of a footballing brain despite all his endeavour. He is a player I don't mind but not at my club, scoring goals for villa or norwich or whatever is fine.

Fletcher at Sunderland is a better striker - would you have him?
