In hindsight, would anyone have preferred Berbatov to Robinho?

He was the main man at Spurs yet doesn't get the same exposure with that lot. I sense there's an arrogance in the Lad.

Funnily enough, the thought crossed my mind last night when I heard he scored against Celtic. I don't suppose he can be any worse. I don't think their problem is up front. If anywhere, it's the midfield where they will be vunerable.

I agree with you about Rooney. Unfortunately I don't think Tevez wil be as prolific this year.

I think Tevez's goalscoring will hold up, given the same exposure, 'cos he'll have much better service, well that's the general idea. We'll also have much better back-up in the goalscoring stakes next season. The success of the season, I think, will be down to how waterproof the back four is. I'm hoping for a season of staggering stinginess.

I think we will be very good defensively this season.

Even if we don't buy any new centre-backs, Lescott and VK33 showed what a great pairing they made.

With Boateng at right-back and Kolarov at left-back and Yaya just in front of them and Joe or Shay behind them, we will have some defence this season, IMHO.

I just can't wait!

There's no reason to think he'll come good now when he hasn't shone at all for them, it was a preseason game against Celtic!

You could tell how far out of favour he fell last year, I reckon their new kid Hernandez will be ahead of him in the pecking order.

So Berbatov has one good early pre season game against second rate opposition and suddenly he's world class again.

Baconface always talks up his "big buys" as he will never admit to a mistake.

Didn't even see the game against Celtic and tbh I've been thinking this for the past few weeks just a hunch that's all hope um well and truly wrong though!!

I hope your wrong about berbaflop Danny. I have a rag for a dad and Berba's faliures infront of goal and moaping about is my fav comeback any time he brings Robinhio into an argument.

if you have a dad as a rag and you turn out to be a blue you dont need further comebacks, i can assure you that you have beat him hands down

I said exactly the same thing a while back and got laughed out of town for saying it... but the facts are every season the rags seem to have just one man who has a fantastic season, is virtually unplayable and carries the rest of the team... and i too have got a sneaky feeling that it will be berbaflop next season.

Right, i've gone 3 pages back to check I haven't missed a thread and I know there'll be people who'll abuse me for making a thread about Berbatov but unfortunately he was class today and after seeing his interview on SSN I find myself struggling to dislike the guy.

I always liked him being the punchline of the rag jokes and fear he will have a really good season.

What are you thinking blues?
