Fucking hell this thread brings me back!! I cut my City teeth watching games with these guys. My best buddy from Rochdale, Tommy, knew these guys. I always remember Bernard with a burger in his mouth in a pub somewhere. Glinny is that guy still alive?? Every time I saw him he was a mild mannered bloke drinking a pint and we would sit and have a chat.

I also remember a guy called Albie who was absolutely mental. For soem reason this guy had loads of girls. he got so much pussy it was untrue.

I remember a long session in the Chaddy Tavern after we beat Sundarland (and relegated them) in the early 90's. What great craic that was!!!!

I see Bernard regularly and speak to him every week on the phone. Been trying get him a ticket all week but nothing's showing. So instead he,s still gonna be out boozing in Piccadilly before the match tomorrow, watching the game in a pub and will be heading to Shambles after the game.

Big Bernard is alive and kicking!! spoke to him to today and he,s well up for the match, will meet him in town beforehand.
Ran some great trips in the 90s, Norwich away springs to mind..never met a more confident blue.he knew we,d beat utd, wasn,t worried about newcastle and says the title is ours!

best trip i remember was spuds away 1st game of the season after 1990 world cup,in the green man off the north circular before the game and stopped at some boozer in walsall on the way back,that was a messy one

If I remember rightly the boozer in Wallsall we used to stop at was called The Orange Tree.

I also cut my teeth going with these lot, I think two out of my first five with these I got nicked (Villa and Leeds away), I was only 17 and a bit wet behind the ears but I certainly got more streetwise pretty quickly.
Glinny is still knocking about, he doesn't go home games but still does the aways, last time I saw him was about 2 years ago.


Was anyone on here on one of the two coaches we took to Stoke for the infamous fancy dress game on Boxing Day. We went from the owl and Spindle, crazy day that.

Still see Glynny every now and again. I remember well him getting nicked at West Brom back in the early 80's on a trip from the Railway. Good old days indeed.
