I don't mean to be flippant but, if he was last seen in 2011, I think you can be confident in using the past tense alone. He did a Q&A thread on here, which was excellent, and posted in other threads.
However, though I'm sure he has his opinions about all kinds of things at the club, it'll be impossible for him to undermine his position by posting them on a forum such as this one. It's not realistic to expect otherwise.
