He is doing ok but When Silva first come by this time he was smoking hot.

Need to see B Silva more in the central role though.

He played some delightful passes today but it's clear he's wasted on the wing.

If De Bruyne is out for a while then it would be a good opportunity for Pep to deploy Bernardo in a central position.

Sterling, B Silva, Sane
Aguero

If Merlin returns to the fold soon, I would prefer to see Bernardo competing with Gundogan for the final midfield spot as Sterling & Sane are our most natural and threatening wingers by a distance.

Bernardo is not a wingers. Looks average at best out wide. Played very well once moved centrally. Was surprised Toure was brought on to replace him based on how the team was playing at the moment.

needs to learn to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and control a game like David Silva does.....

hopefully this will come with time as he is still young and playing out of position but i don't seem him playing centrally that often with KDB and David playing there for a good few years yet

Thought he was decent today and taking him off for Yaya just as he was getting involved in the middle seemed daft. He's slowly coming up to speed but I think it is coming

He's played wide right his entire career, and its clear Pep isn't asking him to replicate what Sterling and Sané do as wingers so that argument doesn't wash.

Hes miles off his best and although I'm not worried yet and am sure he'll be fine eventually, I'd hoped he's be a lot further along by now.

I only saw a handful of Monaco games last year outside of our fixtures but I was under the impression that even though he started out wide he mostly drifted inwards and did most of his damage through the middle. Was that not the case?

In any event I think you touched on the issue, he isn't being asked what Sterling and Sane do as wingers, but for me the system works far better when we have someone doing exactly that. Between whoever's playing the eights, Fernandino coming forward, the fullbacks underlapping, and even Nico bombing in recently it's so crowded in the middle and we benefit much more from winger providing width and attacking the goal line looking for cutback opportunities.

I thought he looked really good in the centre and, if Sanchez comes, I think he’ll play there ahead of Gundogan.
