Bernardo Silva - 2017/18 performances

I am sure the daily star said it was over £100M
I remember someone here telling me there's no way Monaco would have let us get him for the prices quoted(£40-43m). However Pep pretty much confirmed De Bruyne is still our most expensive signing last week when talking about Sanchez, which leads me to believe we indeed got a great price on Bernardo.

Think this boy deserves a run in the team in place of David. Unpopular view, I know, but in my opinion David's performances have suffered from a lack of training time. Once things have settled down at home, David will be back but I just think, for the time being, he should not necessarily be an automatic starter when available.

We're going to need him to cover Sane now which is unfortunate because he was excellent through the middle yesterday.

Delighted for him. Has kept his head down and never once sulked.

Weird stat that he has featured in the most games out of everyone

Are you mad !

No disrespect to Bernardo but David Silva he is not. Every game that David misses I fear the worst, he is so, so important to the team.

You just know it’ll happen sooner or later. I hope Guardiola’s understandable fury at the end keeps the referees on their toes for the next week, particularly Madley against the Albion, but you know it’s on the cards.

I fancy Madley will guess about 10% of his decisions based mainly on the theatricals of the opposition - fair chance of a foul if you go down, yellow card for a City player if you roll about clutching a limb, red card if you go down in a heap holding both hands to the front of your face! Gottit, Roberto. Will we see more of the same useless shit you have dished up in our matches this season, or are you going to have a first read of the written Laws of the Game and apply them impartially? My money's on the former.

He's not the replacement for the irreplaceable David, but my ERO texted me last night and suggested that Bernardo is looking more and more like the kind of player we saw at Monaco, and is looking a little more like the player that Silva is. Time will tell. He's an intelligent player and is going to thrive in the atmosphere that suits Guardiola. I wonder how pissed off he is this morning after his superb goal was chalked off by the bloody idiots who are paid handsomely to get things right. Why wasn't VAR used to check that Leroy wasn't offside? Is it only being used intermittently?

After watching him much closer this season, I don't see him as a winger and I certainly don't see him as David's replacement in the middle; they just play completely different styles. I have absolutely no idea which position he will end up in but he is so special.

I have high hopes for Bernardo, he has the close control of DS but needs to see the game and his role in it better. Anyway at his age it's harsh to compare him to someone who is arguably City's greatest ever player.

VAR not used at Cardiff. Seems wrong, either use it for all or not at all. Why should we have to put up with the crap officials if others don't ;-)
