I thought that they had a perfectly rational debate about it, to be honest.
Up to a point the Chelsea women’s manager was calling for a ban,Matt Murray is it,spoke well calling for something like community service type of work, but not a ban,Kevin Philips sat there not knowing what to say ..

TBH, and I have lots of personal knowledge of social media 'crimes', I am amazed then anyone in a public role , or who represents an organisation or is high profile would ever ever ever put anything on a public forum. Just asking for trouble. In this case I am absolutely with Bernie but he will get banned, no doubt.
I have to agree - let me say first I’m totally behind Bernado and think any ban would be very harsh - but you simply cannot say it’s a private joke between mates when it’s put into the social media world - a private joke is a text or something - once you put something on social media you are risking criticism

Well I was told here that it didn't even make it's way over to Portugal until 2008 but I just looked and can't verify where they saw that.

Regardless of that have you considered how old those adverts look, the ones holding the spear? Or are you forgetting how young Bernardo is?

The chocolate has been on sale since the 60s, they were acquired by Lacasa in 1987. The video that was shared on this thread featuring the spear etc made no mention of Lacasa so I'd suggest it was way before then.

Of which I understand the point you make.

My neighbours know the house I live in had two people die as do I; my kids don't.

This is the crux of the tweet position; the history doesn't change unless I knocked it down and remade it.

The media are in full flow and stoking the flames to an irrational level.
Bernardo is guilty of nativity but I don’t think anyone seriously would accuse him of being racist.
What he did would probably have gone un noticed in any other European country but Britain has always been at the forefront of political correctness and his tweet was open to being interpreted as offensive by some. The poor lad did not clearly understand this.
If this results in a suspension it will be a serious miscarriage of justice.

Nativity? Does that make pep his manger?

Correct, and why the club should be organising social media training. In my line of work, we are told very strongly that what we say on social media is considered part of our conditions of service, and could lead to disciplinary proceedings if we over step the mark, on any subject.

Who decides on over stepping the mark ?
