Money apart I would not want to be a top international footballer these days, they do have a tough life, never see their families / friends, rarely at home.In comparison to who exactly?
It is no coincidence that the top players, who are pretty much financially secure after one or two years at the top level, rather than walk away from their tough life try and to prolong it as long as possible.
They have a wonderful life and most freely admit it.
It's what you say when you aren't committed.I don’t get all the panic , all he seems to have said is I am with the National Team at the Mo and concentrating on our next game.. what’s wrong with that?
Yes , I'd prefer to be a refuse collector, are you serious!Money apart I would not want to be a top international footballer these days, they do have a tough life, never see their families / friends, rarely at home.
Just look at some of our players recent interviews, they are mentally and physically shot, yet have to be back preparing for another 11 month slog in two weeks time and with a World Cup in the middle of that.
It's far from an easy life, end of story.
Read what I said, it's not longer a cushy job, very different from the 60s, 70s, 80s, those guys had a very easy life, decent money, a couple of hours training then the rest of the day to themselves.Yes , I'd prefer to be a refuse collector, are you serious!
£200,000 a week will no doubt soften the blow somewhat.Yes , I'd prefer to be a refuse collector, are you serious!
Yes, I understand that they are overworked and have to forgo certain difficulties, but at the top levels they are well compensated. Lifestyle, hotels travel and medical needs.Read what I said, it's not longer a cushy job, very different from the 60s, 70s, 80s, those guys had a very easy life, decent money, a couple of hours training then the rest of the day to themselves.
These guys at the highest level life is non stop, physically difficult but the mental strain they are under is huge.
