Bernardo Silva to leave at the end of the season | City Confirm (p11)

This is the first of our exiting legends who I think could do another season at the top level. Unlike all of the others he’s still performing at his best. Obviously he leaves a hero. Yet another top/world class player who gave all his best years to City which is testament to what a well run club we have been for the last 15 years.
He could definitely do a job next year in some form but the gaffer will just play him every 90 minutes which might not be ideal for him or us! 18 trophies (so far) in 9 years. Thank you Bernie!

My favourite player under Pep. A truckload of talent, and a thoroughly decent human being too, by all accounts. Runs his socks off, year in, year out, and presumably smart enough to steer clear of the match day threads afterwards. Young enough to play at the top level somewhere with decent weather for a few more years yet. Going to miss him a lot.

Favourite player, irreplaceable, and arguably one leaving when his powers are not actually waning. That said, the club needs to continue to be emotionless and allow players to leave rather than extend. We simply need to rejuvenate midfield, particularly for Europe, but it’s going to be a tall order for anyone coming in this summer. Whomever we bring in will already be under scrutiny and be weighed down with expectation, but his case won’t be helped unless there’s also substantial improvement in the consistency of existing midfielders (Gonzalez, Foden, Reijnders, Kovacic, Lewis).
Kovacic has been injured for ages, how can he show on the field consistency?

Legend, love him, because he always gave everything for us, but first when he is gone, we will know what we will be missing, he was and is massive for us. Maybe he could include a clause in his new team's contract allowing him to play for us always when we face the dippers. Will really miss him.

I personally think the time is just right for him, his family and our club. But what a player he has been for us, he will take some replacing. Good luck and thank you.

I feel he's been generally underrated by many. Most seem to focus on goals and assists but he's the engine that makes us tick over and unfortunately, his work is often unnoticed.

Class player who'll be missed. He scored one of my favourite goals ever too. Villa away (about 5 seasons ago maybe). A superb volley that finished off a fantastic counter attack. Seeing that live at Villa Park that night was fucking brilliant.

We simply cannot lose Bernardo and Rodri for next season.
