Ha good one
When they get bits of them blow off the others say at least you wil be able to get into the olympic team and get disabilty living allowance etc,it's forces humour and nurses humour is the same,if anyone heard that they would get all airiated and cry discrimination to disabled people

Quite frankly i despair at the PC bollocks these days, there are real cases that get lost in the noise of people having meltdowns over fuck all

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the main meltdown is happening here from people who somehow think that pointing out racism is an affront on their freedom of speech.

People complaining that "the world's gone mad" over this are, themselves, completely out of touch with reality. There are parts of the world where telling another guy to suck your dick is likely to end up with you getting shot or stabbed. That's a real example of something getting totally blown (no pun intended) out of proportion, not backlash on the cesspit that is Twitter. Twitter is meaningless and many on here will acknowledge that but they'll quite happily take it seriously when it suits their agenda and gives them a chance to offload.

Yet again, the debate has descended into a one sided one about "outrage culture" off the back of virtually nothing other than media and social media bullshit.

In actuality, these outraged people are pretty hard to come by. I think it was an immature racist joke that had no business being posted outside of Bernardo and Mendy's private messages but I'm not outraged over it and I suspect there's plenty of people who agree with me.

What's far, far more troubling, in my opinion, is the sheer amount of people defending and denying definitevely racist behaviour.

In general maybe, but 1 person and 1 tweet. You sure ? I think the biggest impact on the world is governments and their words and actions.
They are the people that need holding back, at times.

I don't think the world magically becomes a better place if Silva hadn't tweeted it, but I think if you want to reduce and limit the legacies and crimes of colonialism then not making jokes using caricatures from that era, even if you didn't intend it to be racist and even if your mate is ok with it, is a good place to start.

You said the word “chinky” being a punchline was racist and I’d probably agree.

But there’s no song with the word “chinky” as a punchline, so was it a strawman you built for effect or were you simply mistaken?

But he's still a chinky, not a thai.....yeah?

It's really not that far back in the thread. The op was talking about a song city fans used to sing.

I'm not saying it wasn't an ill advised tweet. I'm just saying you are blowing it out of all proportion.
I don't know what percentage of "the world" won't have seen it or couldn't give a damn, but I bet it's pretty high.

Anyone who gives a fuck about it must have very few real issues in their lives. Lucky things.
I knew that many on twitter were wound up about this but didn’t think (m)any City fans would be.

All I can say is I’m very happy for them and am jealous of the lives they’re living.

just because Mendy found it funny, doesn't strip people from the right to be offended at it does it? you could do a joke about a Chinese man TO a Chinese man who might find it funny, but another chinese man overhearing might not, who's in the wrong?

The ear wigging Chinese twat obviously
