Year by year the same story. I'm f*ckin tired.

Remember, Sergio was going to Real Madrid from the moment he signed for City. Barca have no money, so they can't afford to sign him and they would struggle to find his wages. They are also nowhere near the team that they were. He isn't leaving. I don't know why City are so underestimated, not many players have left in the last 10 years and most have stayed for a lot longer than was predicted at the time of their signing.

Only way that happens is if Barca find 100m somewhere, asks Bernardo to push for a move, and City have a replacement lined up.

I’m sure City have been talking to Bernardo all season to see how he feels etc so that they can start looking at replacement IF he wants to leave. We’ve seen zero hints at City looking at any high level midfielders this window.

From my understanding of things, as per the excellent Sid Lowe on the ESPN football podcast, Barça have to essentially create 4 times the revenue that they wish to spend (i.e. to sign Bernardo for 60m they would first need to create / free up 240m in revenue).

They're in a huge financial crisis and all of these transfer smoke & mirrors are, IMO, to placate their fans rather than having any real intention.
