Of course it still works, it isn’t a hard and fast rule. Bernardo isn’t stupid he understands our position, he’s said as much. He knows if we are too late to replace him or do;’t get what we want he stays, and he ‘s said he’s prepared to.Bernardo wants to go- so City won't say no. The stance we've made that we let players leave when they want to go doesn't work if we don't let bernardo go just cuz it's too late in the window. It's also still possible imo to go and get a replacement it's just going to cost more than it would of 3 months ago.
I also think if he did go or when he eventually goes his replacement would be a winger not a midfield player.
