Find it hard to believe he’s not flying private if he’s going to Barcelona for 1 day.

Same here. I'm sure Mendes has a private jet which I'd expect would be used in transfer situations to ensure they are kept discrete. Bernie traveling to Barca by a standard airline doesn't sit right, as it would raise too much suspicion.

Think everybody has accepted he’ll be gone if not this summer then probably by this time next year, if they offer the £ and he wants the move then we need to let the lad go.

He is going to go in the next couple of seasons but if he is going now then it won't be on a discount. And there are plenty of question marks currently at Barcelona whether they can actually afford him and not on some crazy HP deal. I don't think he is going to move this season.

How do you know they haven’t been proactive in finding a replacement mate?

You know how thoroughly we scout and plan for every potential signing we bring into the squad.

If the Club have known for ages about this, like you say, why do you think it’s likely they would decide to abandon their entire scouting and acquisition approach just in this one isolated case?

Bringing in a replacement still hinges on the selling club not taking the piss. We have a realistic valuation of said player and we will easily move away from the deal and rather pay the premium

I won't be suprised Bernie is doing that ( although I doubt that with the current statement) but still doesn't mean we are going to be a soft touch.

I'm sure the club will already have his replacement signed the moment Barca officially undergoing negotiation with us.

Like they sign Grealish when Bernardo is nearly going out last summer. I think the same situation will happen this summer ie we already signed his replacement regardless Bernardo situation as precaution.

I imagine they know if it is nunes or paqueta (or both hopefully! Lol) they can be done quickly? Fees around €40m I e we oils imagine and personal terms certainly not an issue.
