doesnt sound entirely convincing?
No it doesn't - here's some more quotes of what Pep said:

In a subsequent question and answer session, Guardiola was asked directly if Bernardo could join Barca this summer and gave a candid reply. "Two clubs like Barcelona and Manchester City, the names are varied, there's a lot of them," he said.

"Right now, I think Bernardo will continue with us. Our goal, as a club, is for him to stay with us. But I have always said I don't want players that don't want to be with us. But Bernardo is important and I think he will stay. It's true he could be with Barca, I don't know what will happen."

Just a quick snippet regarding Bernardo.

I've just picked my lad and his uncle (who has an apartment at the edge) up from the airport from a mad weekend in Amsterdam. One of the lads on the trip fits kitchens. This same lad is fitting a marble kitchen at Bernardo's new house next week.

Just passing it on...
I thought hed prefer tiddlewinks

i think the reasons about Bernardos unhappiness aren`t the weather, the Iberian lifestyle or missing his family. I´m pretty sure he would decline a transfer to Benfica.

It`s about the wage (level of Sterling,Grealish or KDB) or he`s a fan of Barcelona.

Hahaha! Brilliant! Cheers for that, I’ve needed a laugh all day.

What a rollercoaster of a quote!

He’ll stay…we want him to stay…but if he wants to go he can go…but he’ll stay…he could also go to Barca as well..

Maybe i'm a little thick but I don't understand how Barca are desperate to offload DeJong as they need to cut the wage bill but then plan on replacing him with Bernardo. If it was a case of offloading DeJong and bringing through an academy player and getting a transfer fee as well as greatly reduced wages then fair enough but i don't see how this deal benefits Barca to the level they need it to.

Also would we really sell a player to Barca for a huge fee given the financial mess they are in?

Pep is trying to be positive, but I'm not convinced.
