Bernardo Silva

I think the issue Bernardo has (again) is that there isn’t anyone willing who can afford him that he would go to, PSG wanted to buy him as Mbappe wants him but Mbappe and PSG are a mess. Barca are broke and no doubt City are marking his card over Torres’s unpaid transfer fee. He doesn’t seem keen on Saudi football and Real aren’t interested. So no real options for him.

I think he’ll stay but I doubt he’s going to be delighted about it.

I believe what has been said many times previously, the club have outlined a valuation for Bernardo, and it is down to his agent to bring that fee to the table from an interested club, in a timely fashion. He has no reason to go to another PL club, because that defeats the object, and his chances of moving overseas are becoming more limited by the day. I just hope he stays, especially after the talk about Mahrez leaving.

I guess it depends what’s been said informally when he’s asked to leave previously. Rumour was last year we said knuckle down for this season and we will let you go next summer… of course that’s on the premise of a “reasonable” offer being made. I wouldn’t want us to go all Daniel Levy and have gentleman’s agreements with players and then not honour them.

The difference is that Levy was never honest with Kane because he put his valuation so high that nobody was ever going to meet it. With Bernardo, I think City would let him go if the valuation - which is reasonable - is met. Problem is that no club he is interested in is willing to provide the fair valuation. City was willing to do that with Kane.

Regarding Kane, I think that worked out better for City in the long run. Get Haaland one year later and win a treble. Levy did the club a solid in being a prick.

I don't think he wants to move anywhere else other than Barca, and given the penny pinching bent cunts haven't got a pot to piss in,and are far too preoccupied manipulating their FFP declarations......im very confident he will be going nowhere for at least the next 2 seasons.

Which is fucking great.

This is a business not a charity. I get the mentality of letting players go who want to leave but unless we're getting an equitable return we adhere to the terms agreed to.

Of course, he signed a contract and gets very well paid for his services. I think the whole Bernardo saga is tiresome, Barca are broke but have tapped him repeatedly. I think he needs to be far more realistic.

Who would PSG have on offer that we would take? Maybe Neymar or Mbappe (doubt it due to the histories), but nobody else there would be close to worth giving up Silva
