destabilises the harmony of the player
Oh boo hoo. If he wanted to leave so desperately he should have made it clearer sooner if in fact he is actually so unhappy and wants to leave. No offense to Bernie as I'm big fan of him and I don't think he's as much a child to sulk as such but if not getting exactly what you want exactly when you want is enough to make your game and team suffer, too fucking bad. This isn't primary school, sportsmen are adults and should act as such.

Or, he fancies a change of scenery, but recognises he is on a long contract and would need another club to match our valuation of him, just like Cucurella.

He’s not sulking. He’s a model pro.

I agree which is why I said as much... I could care less if a player is suddenly unsettled the week before the season starts and don't think Bernie is that type.

Barca sources indicate that Bernardo's agent Mendes has approved the possibility of a swap deal.
Gutted if it happens.
Barca would certainly have to pay us morevt than we pay. De Jong would also have to take a pay cut.

I can't see DeJong accepting a pay cut unless Barca cough up the £17 million, and if we were to swap there should also be at least £20 million coming our way as well.

Gutted as you say but we still get a good player in return. The team evolution is underway. Nobody wants Bernie to go but we can’t stop it if he is determined which is fucking crap but the reality.

Mendes can approve what he likes. It means absolutely fuck all. We decide when Bernardo leaves not him.

If Bernardo goes, I could see City waiting for Bellingham and playing Phillips alongside Rodri. Not that I think it's a great plan to have a smaller squad, but I could see them doing it

Pep and Txikis‘ past affiliations probably. Without that, it doesn’t happen.

It shouldn’t, but our dealings with them say otherwise.
It means fuck all if they can't register new signings never mind not quite having the immediate cash to afford the player.

Me too, I don’t think we have planned to lose Bernardo and we don’t seem to do knee jerk reaction signings. I trust we have enough to cover that position. Only issue I foresee is Liverpool going for Bellingham, I do think he will choose Pep and his mate Haaland though - plus we have his England mates.

So what's the senses saying about his renewal?
I'm Dribble, not Mystic Meg so any opinions I have on that are merely opinions.

I largely ignored the rumours that he wanted to leave last summer & took it on good faith that he was happy & staying at the club when several BM ITK's claimed this to be the case.

HOWEVER, that recent pre-season interview changed everything in my mind. Bernardo essentially said he didn't know what his City future held, but he can assure the club & fans he'll give 100% whilst he remains here. That made his feelings & intentions pretty clear to most, including me.

Question: What's your feelings about Bernardo's City future, & what do you base your opinions on?

I meant about Pep's renewal actually.

There's chat of Paqueta as a replacement but I'm not sure
