Bernardo Silva

Barcelona play by their own rules.

They weren't in a position to sign five other players this summer but they have done so, even if not able to register some.

I expect De Jong to go to Chelsea and then we might see something happen.

I'm sure City have their own deadline, however.
I have feeling de Jong is going to stick around at Barcelona as Chelsea have other priorities than midfield (even though he would help them).

doesnt mean they are correct and when you look at other transfers its even harder to see that its an accurate evaluation by the club for a player in his peak years who is truly a world class player, multiple title winner, consistent high performer in the most difficult league in the world with a very rare skill set in that he is one of those players who is exceptional in tight spaces, creative and also an extremely hard worker.....very rare you get all those combined.

It's such a short career though. Professionally, it's hard to see a better place for Bernie to be. A few more years in Manchester, ought to represent a small part of his life but one he cannot make up for if he leaves and find it was not really the best thing he could do.
Only he knows what his drivers are. I just hope wherever he goes he is successful and happy. Such a massive change in the squad this season. Raz, Gabby, Fern, Alecs and probably Bernie. That’s 25% of them. It’s some refresh.

I bumped into Bernie and his missus (who is even more stunning in the flesh) last Wednesday evening hanging about outside Piccadilly on Station Approach, and there were a bunch of spice heads hanging about outside the Greggs up there - the whole scene did make me feel for them both a touch, when they’ve got the pick of European cities to live in and that’s their experience of Manchester.

Did also make me question why the fuck he insists on living in town when he could be out in Cheshire somewhere away from all the horrors of the city centre.

But I guess that’s the lifestyle they want!

Yep, they obviously like living in the City centre.

I do think he's pushing his luck up there though, around Piccadilly Approach and Gardens.

Don't think you will get Pep over that side.

His missus is stunning, don't know how he does it.

His previous one when he was at Monaco was even more stunning!

To be fair, every major European city has similar issues to Manchester if you look for them.

Portugal had such a bad heroin/crack cocaine problem, their government were forced to take the sensible measure of treating drug misuse as a medical issue, as opposed to a criminal one & it's helping clean the country up.

I suppose avoiding these typical inner city scenes is why the well-to-do opt to live in the wealthy areas of Cheshire where your average spice head couldn't afford to sleep rough, let alone live... \0/

To lose Bernardo at all would be highly regrettable. Those who have gone have been replaced, with the exception of Zin (and I think he will be in fairly short order).
To lose Bernardo when the season has already started would be more than regrettable. It would I think be the first genuine loss we would have suffered in the last ten years through transfers. (I thought Sané would be, but I was very much mistaken on that).

Lisbon can be the same, plenty of homeless, drug addicts in Barcelona and Paris too.

‘So Ines, what was it that first attracted you to the millionaire footballer Bernardo Silva?’

You’re not wrong on him playing a dangerous game hanging about up there.

Luckily the wreck heads were so panelled they had absolutely no clue who he was - if they’d spotted him, fuck knows what they’d have tried!

Leeds put in penalty clauses in the Rafinha deal if they don’t get their money on time.

Read that before, was a good interview with the Leeds chairman about how they told the player to wait it etc.

What got me was, if they don't pay the installment due, what makes him think they'd pay the penalty clauses. I guess it is more a point proving deterrent.

Oh absolutely - knocking about outside the Gare du Nord is hardly a picture of refined, sophisticated European cosmopolitan living!

It was more a comment on why the fuck he exposes himself and his partner to all that shit.

I mean - obviously they’re going to hate Manchester if that’s their experience of it.

It’s a great City - if I was a millionaire living in it, you wouldn’t catch me dead on Station Approach.

I was sat outside the Piccadilly tap on Friday and they didn’t bother me either :-)

Maybe some rich people like to have poor people as a background to display their wealth?
