I always think in these scenarios, what would we be quoted if we were trying to buy Bernardo? £120m+ I'd imagine, even if he does go it looks like it'll be around 80m Euros. I just don't get it.

IF this is true, we have Barcelona sleeper agents in our club! £120M+ Midfielder for €50-55M? then we will go out to buy a €20M replacement for £80M+, this is fucken embarrassing!
Absolutely no chance Omar berrada and khaldoon do this deal. This is embarassing

I don't think we are that desperate to sell Bernardo despite the silly prices quoted by a pro Barcelona journalist.

Pep to win the Premier league with smallest squad ever.

Could this be the challenge for the master

You just know the 'friendly' ALS charity match between Barcelona & City taking place later on this month was premeditated to facilitate the Bernie transfer.

Undoubtedly the red carpet will be rolled out for him, city centre apartment complexes bought in his name with a new pet dog called Eric to welcome him & John.

What's bizarre is why we're entertaining this & surely Khaldoon could see this coming a mile off. I'll all for looking after our players under contract, but we do need to take a stand unless a significant fee is offered for a player under a long term contract. We've seen plenty of clubs take this route & in instances when a move hasn't materialised after an initial period of disappointment the player has got on with it, helped the team & fans chant their name with all forgotten. If we do take a soft line with players under long term contracts, then in theory we could be disrupting the squad every season with a player wanting to go abroad for sunshine & lifestyle purposes.

Furthermore, I really can't understand why Bernie would want to go to a club where his future livelihood is put in jeopardy. Yes, he's rich but he still needs to pay bills & have a nest egg as he's still relatively young. If I was his accountant & legal representative I would cite Messi & De Jong contracts as black markers. I also find the lifestyle issue as rather blaffling. Yes, all of us would like to work in glorious weather, but at the end of the day its a job & thats why holidays & breaks exist for something to look forward to & escape the work routine.

If City accept close to that, it's an embarrassment. It's one thing to be open to a player's wishes to leave but another to have your pants pulled down in the process

If he wants to go then so be it, thanks for the memories but no players truly gives a shit about the club or the fans these days (the club barely gives a shit about fans these days!) It is about personal “growth” and following their dreams. I think out of the whole squad only Phil will have any true loyalty when push comes to shove.

That said the club need to have a bit more back bone with the fee’s we should be demanding.

And Barca - fuck me! They have sold off huge chunks of future income to finance all these transfers and if it doesn’t work out then hopefully they will go to the wall.

Anyway it’s all Jacks fault for slapping him on the back of the head a couple of weeks back. Work place bullying that ;)

Maybe Bernie isn't as smart as we all thought he was.

The problem is we all know Barcelona can't afford to pay what he's worth and yet we seem desperate to make this transfer happen.
What do you mean we are desperate to make the transfer happen?

We are open to selling him if he wants to leave like most other members of the squad if the price is right for us.

and we better replace him with someone top level!!! The squad is getting ripped apart because we are so nice? De Jong maybe? Move Grealish or foden central and get Felix?
If this is true, I dnt think we are nice anymore but STUPID!
