Bernardo Silva

He was the one who started the rumours that we are going to sell him for €60m. I still take that with a pinch of salt.

Yes I know that. That's why I wrote he is a mouthpiece - just post what the Barca boards tells him to keep their fan base with whom he has massive engagement with.

He has been wrong ofcourse and I hope he is. The 60m is obviously BS but Bernie may still go for an agreed higher price.

Good thing, there's only 2 weeks left

I agree, Grealish has everything he needs to prosper on Bernardo role and Neymar is great player who woul elevate us to another level.
Grealish has everything except for the very things that make Bernardo brilliant you mean? work rate, tenacity, intensity, the ability to have the ball in tight areas and get out of that to beat the press (Grealish wins freekicks by holding on to the ball and drawing a foul, that's not the same as being able to play through a press with his back to goal, having the ball in midfield with 4/5/6 players out of play thanks to Bernardo isn't comparable to winning a freekick and them resetting 10-20 yards deeper)

there's not a player in the squad who I would say is least suited to those descriptions than Grealish.

I've a feeling he is gone, I'd be surprised if we replace in this window aswell which is pretty worrying considering our injury record

Totally agree, I actually think Grealish is really starting to shine in his role on the left. Work rate, tenacity, intensity and the ability to receive the ball in tight areas describes a certain other young English midfielder in our squad called Foden perfectly though. In fact, I'd add an exceptional long and short passing game to your list.

I hope as Gaughan has reported we hold out for a minimum £80m and don't buckle. We shouldn't any circumstances accepting a lower offer.

We don’t NEED to sell and that’s why we hold all the cards here. We can in theory just hold out, we know he’ll not kick up a fuss, and we know Barça are wet for him so they either pay the money or walk away looking silly for mouthing off.

Don’t agree mate .
He will be gone for under £65million and we won’t be bringing anyone in this summer . He should be £100 million and we should replace but we never replace the same window . Is it a mistake course it is .
Not replacing him, with a 55 game season ahead of us (plus a World Cup) and a tiny squad containing an assortment of fine glassware in the shape of Stones, Laporte, DeBruyne, Palmer & Phillips, would be lunacy…..and on that basis I’ve no doubt you’re right!

As much as I love having Bernardo in the team he is not irreplaceable.
Others will step up, others will be brought through the ranks or be purchased. There will be a plan & it will provide opportunities for hungrier players.
Barcelona are a broke joke club & he will be downgrading at a pivotal point in his career, which will be sad to see.
The way it's dragged on is poor & has echoes of Sane to Bayern Munich.
Bernie dresses it up by going on about mutual respect & happy to play here, but he does not make a positive statement about staying. If Barcelona can't pony up the dough I see him having a reduced role this season before being sold next season to the highest bidder.

If we valued Bernie at £!20m then that would definietly price him out of the move and he will be more pissed off if we did that. It is finding out a compromise.
I'm all for finding a compromise but the club has to do what's best for Manchester City. Personally I think £80m is an absolute joke, Leicester are turning down bids of over £50m for James Maddison, Wolves have turned down £40 for Gibbs-White ect...

Bernardo Silva is one of the very best midfield players in Europe with still three years left on his contract so we should be looking at more than £80m for him.

I'm sure both clubs will come to an agreement regarding a price and more than likely a lot of it will be add ons due to the financial state of Barcelona.

Maybe its my hatred towards Barcelona and my love for Bernardo Silva but fuck that for doing these twats any favours, We've already turned our nose up at £16m for Garcia in a January window yet he was going their for free anyway a couple of months later on top of the Ferran Torres deal, Then you've the charity event whilst the season has already started whatever that's about...

Guys stop and really think about this as pep and man city didn't know this could happen without a plan to replace him as this has been going on for a very long time we are not the city of old we are a very very well run club ! look across the city did you think sine 2008 we would be where we are now have faith we all need to
