The East Stand is named after another true City Legend,Colin.
Come on City make it happen and name the West Stand after him.
Should be behind one of the goals.

RIP Bert, a true City legend.

Great man. True gentleman. sad loss. My all time favourite player and best goal keeper I saw. Better than Frank Swift according to my late dad.

According to Yashin consistently voted by FIFA as the greatest goal keeper ever.
"There have only been two world-class goalkeepers. One was Lev Yashin, the other was the German boy who played for Manchester City (Bert Trautmann)."
—Yashin himself

Bert never got to play for Germany and achieve true recognition because overseas players never did in those days. He did captain and English League Team. He was the idol of Arsenals Bob Wilson.

He integrated himself into English life so much that he said he was an England fan... even over Germany! Never forget how he had to battle to be accepted... A true legend.

Having been fortuate to have met the great man, this is truly very sad news. The fact that a German prisoner of war during post war Britain, was taken into the hearts of City fans and football fans in general throughout England, is a great testament to the kind of person he was, not only a great goalkeeper, but also a great human being.

R I P big fella, a true City legend.

R.I.P Bert never seen him play but seen footage of the cup final where he broke his neck and carried on wat a fella always be a legend
