Best actors alive today

Cathy Burke deserves a shout.

Oh, and as for the Sean Bean thing - I agree that he seems to play the same part in every single thing I've seen him in. I may have to watch him in more stuff to make sure I'm not wrong on this one. Shakespeare trained he may be, but he still has the same accent and all the same mannerisms in everything he does.

A bit like Kenneth Branagh? Or Laurence Olivier? Or just about any other RSC trained actor?

Too much snobbery on here, that if an actor has a working-class accent he's somehow inferior...

Nothing out of the ordinary really but some good actors that are prob not getting so mant mentions, in no particular order.

Kevin Spacey
Brendan Gleeson
Woody Harrelson
Bill Murray
Jack Nichelson
Philip Seymour Hoffman

Some absolutely outstanding actors listed here and hard to disagree with a lot of the nominations. But what about the best piece of acting you have ever seen? Triumphing talent from own own wonderful shores I have to say Philip Glenisters scene in the last ever episode of Ashes to Ashes when he remembers Gene Hunt was actually a young copper murdered on Coronation day is perhaps one of the best acted scenes I've ever watched. It's only personal opinion of course but this completely blew me away when it was aired, and still continues to do so every time I watch it.
