Best Album Of 1973

Todd Rundgren - A Wizard, A True Star.
Lou Reed - Berlin.

I love that year so much that I've got a 1973 playlist on my iPod.

Winner, winner chicken dinner!
(Although, had you mentioned Goat's Head Soup, you'd have won jelly & ice cream, too).

Those are both great shouts.

I would add:

Steely Dan - Countdown to Ecstasy
John Cale - Paris1919
Tom Waits - Closing Time
A Steely Dan is a vibrator, apparently, something I only recently found out, as I was never a big fan

I should think not.
I'll save explaining just how 10cc and Arab Strap got their names for another day.

How about the scissor sisters?...:)

Indeed we are old twats

some albums from that time
Billion Dollar Babies
Aladdin Sane
Brain Salad Surgery - ELP
Ooh La La - Faces
Focus at the Rainbow
Tattoo - Rory Gallagher
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, but i also think he released Don't Shoot me i'm only the Piano Player the same year
Houses of the Holy - Led Zep
Burnin and Catch a Fire from the Wailers
Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd, a particular favourite of mine
Dark Side of the Moon
Raw Power - Iggy and the Stooges
Goat's Head Soup
Stranded - Roxy Music, a fine piece of work
Next - Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Greetings from Asbury Park and The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle both by Loose Windscreen
Attempted Mustache - Loudon Wainwright III
Six Wives of Henry VIII - Rick Wakeman
Quadrophenia
Innervisions - Stevie Wonder
Yesshows

are a few of the albums i possess from that fine year

Don't own all the above but do possess most of them and have some of the material from others on compilations. Loudon W is only act I own nothing by.

My favourite album at the time would have been Aladdin Sane; indeed it was my favourite album ever at that point. Now, I would probably plump for Houses of the Holy but there were several of my most favoured albums released that year.

Loudon Wainwright is the father of both Rufus and Martha
had some great songs such as 'Rufus is a tit man' and 'dead skunk in the middle of the road'.
his concerts were always amusing and he still tours and releases albums

Someone I have known of for years but never investigated.
