Best and worst away day you’ve been on

I guarantee I’ve spent more supporting the club than you.
Okay mate I've had a season ticket since 1968 but I accept your seniority I've got no history just like MY. Team

Don't think we played Fulham in 81 remember getting a pasting in London was it selhurst park and Charlton were using their ground I'm open to being corrected we may have got battered at Fulham in 84
Charlton was 86 Dec 28th to be exact
Lost 5-0 Charlton hadn’t scored a goal for 6 games when we drew 1-1 at Maine Road previous
Forget about that one!!!!
What a shit day in the car nightmare journey both ways

Add to that the West Ham at home cup QF when we made Dean Ashton look like Pele. Pearce rested most of the first team on the Saturday before the game which was on a Monday but risked our uncut diamond Samaras who then got injured and couldn’t play. So disappointing that one,as West Ham got to the final although lost to the dippers when they should have won.
Your right theres been a few games where we had a great chance and blew it. Palace in league cup was another, looked a decent team to play in a quarter final and got leathered 4 nil.

Going to mention a random game Southampton away on a Monday night at the Dell under Joe Royle. I think we won 2-0 with Dickov scoring. It was all about the weekend p*ss up. On the Sat night I was in Ashton. We didn't get in until 3am. Got picked up in a van at 05:30 to help out fitting some windows en route to Southampton via Enfield and via Bishop Stortford. If we helped out it was a free lift so didn't mind but as you can imagine I was still steaming at 5:30 and left for Southampton without any shoes and no spare clothes. We did the job and went to stay in Bishops Stortford with a mate who worked at Stansted Airport had a night there, then all of us preceded to Southampton for an all day session in So'ton. Had a great pre-match drink in the Winston (away pub near the Dell) seen City get a rare away win. (Remember singing "who let the goat out song" at the game). Went to a club called Oceana after then went back into the Winston the next day. Great 4 day piss up with no one to answer to at the time.

Best European game was Omonia Nicosia from Cyprus. Went from disaster to amazing. We booked with an aircraft called Excell which went bust. Luckily Easy Jet stepped in and we had an extra night for the same price although we had to fly from Gatwick.
We stayed in Larnaca Bay and went on the piss in Ayia Napa first night. Next day the day of game met with a few of fellow Dentonians who had managed to organise a mini bus with a hotel owner to Nicosia. We found a cracking little small bar which sold big bottles of Heineken for a Euro. Got a bit hairy a couple of hours before kick off with scooters circling our bar and lads throwing flares at us. We was all too smashed to give a s**t. One of the barman gave us a lift in a pick up truck to the game and he was pissed as a fart. There was about 15 of us all squashed in the back, the sight of the City fans as we pulled up was a sight to behold. We went back on the razz in Larnaca and found a few City fans who got fleeced in a laptop bar. You only had to look at a girl and the they were demanding money. Nice curry to finish the night. Next day was a few beers in Limassol and Paphos before flying back out from paphos airport. Great trip Sun, City and beers!!!

It’s was about my 3rd ever away game and the furthest I’d travelled so will always stay with me how shite we were and I loved every minute of it !!!
Still addicted to this day

I was at Stoke on that day in 1981 too, for Trevors debut, although not in fancy dress , it was brilliant day ... i was stood in a packed paddock down the side of the ground, and they never got a look in .... City, and Francis, played really well in a 3-1 win.

Some pics of the match on this link ....

The best time at Stoke though , at least for fancy dress anyway, came in a 3-1 defeat down there on Boxing Day 1988 .. when Nigel Gleghorn scored ..... around 12,000 City fans turned up , and practically ALL of them were in fancy dress!

We had two sides of the ground .. again i was down the side of the ground, although this time in the seats , and i had a 'Vicar' sat to the left of me , and 'Batman' sat to the right .... there were thousands of bananas and various rubber toys being waved about everywhere!

The negative result just didn't seem to bother anyone that day!

My favourite away game that one. Boxing Day 88 I think & a great day out even tho we lost. Batman & Robin on the pitch at half time, ET giving the dibble the V’s with his huge fingers, more City there than Stoke & loads of funny chants that day, which would be deemed inappropriate nowadays :)

Best - Dumping the rags at Wembley in the 2011 semi. Scoles sent off, Wio getting faux tough with Balo and the rags' world record fire drill. But most of all using them as a springboard to the final and the FA Cup win.

Worst - There have been many. Stockport in 2002 was awful but, although embarrassing, it didn't affect promotion. I'd probably go for Fulham about 1981 when we lost 5-1 to a seriously shit side. It rubbed it in when the scoreboard went on the blink and kept crediting City with goals we hadn't scored.
I was at that Fulham game old 2nd division 84,had a fight in some social club next to ground after the game.

Yeah, i've been to Fulham twice ..... one game we lost 5-1 , and on the other occasion we lost 3-2 ..... i think on one of those days a boat sank, or had some problem, at the Oxford-Cambridge boat race if memory serves me right.
