Best away support

Hate to say it but Sunderland, Everton and Newcastle have all impressed me in the past. Borussia Dortmund were good in the Chapions League.

I'm not saying every season. I'm thinking of individual games. Sunderland when we relegated them at Maine Road, Newcastle when we beat them 2-1 in one of Uwe's first games and Everton, well I can't remember when but it's in my mind for some reason.

We've sold out every away game this season including 2 5k+ away ends. We've been on Sky a lot too this season and already sold out our away game for you lot.
Despite our lack of reent success no one can match Everton for away numbers. You also have to look at our 8,000 we've taken to Benfica, 8k to Nuremberg etc

I don't know why Sunderland are top they're pretty rubbish, they couldn't even sell out half of their allocation for our game at the weekend.

I would say that Everton have had excellent numbers in recent years (and no doubt at various points in the past), but I also remember about 1100 of them rattling around the old Platt Lane stand on Kendall's first match back at Maine Road as Everton manager. This was at the time that Sheff Wed, Spurs, Leeds etc would all bring 6-7k and not that long after Everton had been champions.
Sunderland by far the best i have witnessed, circa 13k of them in 91.

Can't knock everton or sunderlands support but Leeds are ahead by a mile IMO

Im not british. whats up with leeds people keep bringing them up. Are they a big club ? cuz they are in the championship. the only thing ive heard is that they hate united..

In England we have a few:
Sunderland (I remember about 12000 of them at Maine Road once when I was a kid).
United at their best are the best for signing all game at many away games (I know, I know) but then can have turn up to the Etihad (and have done a few times) and barely make any noise but despise them as I do I have to give credit for them when they're at their best.
For regular numbers (especially considering they haven't won a trophy for a while); Everton.
Liverpool for numbers and good original songs.

Right now, though, Leeds are the best. They are just like we used to be away from home in the season we were promoted with Keegan in 2002. 2002 was the best in my City supporting life for away atmosphere and numbers by us. Leeds are that good at the moment. Numbers, noise...top.

Historical reasons.

In the 70s they used to be one of the top clubs, and Leeds is a big Northern City with only one football club so they had a big support, and they could and would cause trouble. In their era, the Police didn't have as much control as they do now.

I think Leeds are fortunate enough to be a one Club town like Newcastle are. With the exception of Leeds Rhinos I think everyone growing up there would be a Leeds United fan. There's no alternative when you live in a place like that.

everton rags liverpool and spurs and arsenal seem to be the best supported away thesedays for numbers imo.

our support usually sell out now for away games but last couple of seasons have been abit ropey at some games
