Ahh... back in the days when cars were shit, but utterly predictable in the way they handled. Not like a lot of modern cars that are great in corners until they spectacularly let go.

The best car chase in a movie is The French Connection

French connection without a doubt. Im pretty sure I see a half decent one in Heat perhaps but I maybe wrong. Edit - The Heat one was naff, I don't think that is classed as one at all lol

Bullit used to be widely recognised as best car chase, but easily surpassed by Ronin and Bourne Identity. Watch bullit again and you can see they pass the same car several times and all other cars have seemingly vanished from the streets.

This is the one that's always stuck out for me, filmed in real time too so those people (actors) you see on foot in the hills are actually fleeing...
