Best City pass ever ?

There was a pass by Ederson in a home match a few weeks ago that took out the whole defence and dropped inch perfect to Sergio on the right touchline in front of the east stand virtually level with the edge of the area

People round me were just shaking their heads and laughing it was that ridiculous

Silva's touch and volley to Dzeko to make it 6 against the rags.

The most incredible pass I have ever seen.

Agreed, it was a moment of genius! Also loved Silva' s assist to Milner v Everton at home and to Aguero v Wigan, again at home. What a player he's been for us.

I'm starting to doubt that it ever happened but I can picture Silva, perhaps in the 2011/12 season playing a pass to I believe Dzeko against Liverpool (A) that was ridiculous.

I can see it but too lazy to try and find it.

What struck me immediately is what a fantastic finisher Dzeko was. Yes he strolled about in a half-arsed fashion sometimes, and yes his first touch was pretty crap. But give him the ball anywhere near the goal and more often than not, it was going in.

If Sterling had Dzeko's composure and goal-scoring instinct, he'd have scored 8 or more in the last 3 games.

That is an incredibly selective memory you have there.

Dzeko was an infuriatingly hot and cold finisher, some days he'd finish every chance and others he'd need 10 before one went in.

This is not just true for City either, and of course who can forget this, which made headlines around the world and was getting called the worst miss of the decade

And one for us -

I was a big fan of Dzeko, but if your memory of him is as an ultra-clinical finisher, you've got some very rose tinted specs on. He had an incredible capacity to miss incredibly easy chances until everyone was pulling their hair out and then bury a half-chance no one could expect him to score.

There has been a few but the one face and name that jumps out to me is David Silva. He does passes on a very regular basis other players are simply not aware is even on. Ederson may surpass Silva but for now he is far and away the finest passer i have seen at City. One springs to mind where he received it back to goal, turned on a 6pence, immediately flicked it to the left and right to dodge to defenders steaming in on him then threaded it through for Kun, perfectly weighted. The speed of thought, awareness and skill to do that was as good as anything you ever saw Messi do.

Ok it was not just the pass there but he knew he wanted to make that pass and did with the defenders 50% of the time out of his vision. With them having full view for the whole little bit of action and his foot work still did them.

Ederson has some extra time to survey and has only been here a while but in years to come Davids crown in that department may be under pressure.

Ali 'Fat Duck' Benarbia could pass a ball.

Some of his passes on poor pitches were astonishing for the second league.

At his peak for Monaco, which was 3/4,years before he joined us,he was a Pep player.

Read Wengers program notes on him for the game at Highbury in which Ali was actually sent off.

Kinkladze 1-2 reverse pass to Rosler at the swamp. Played it blind, superb.
