Best City Player who was a City fan?

Which of the lads (and how many have there been?)who grew up watching and supporting City and went on to play for us have been the best?

David White?
Paul Lake (was he a city fan?)
Stephen Jordan?

er.......Tony Vaughn?

I can't actually think of that many from my time. What about some of the greats from the glory days,any of them born and bred Blues?

I'm fairly sure Mike Doyle was a boyhood blue and IIRC so was Neil Young who lived not far from Maine Rd as a kid.

but who springs to mind who loved scoring against utd for us . was trevor sinclair!!

you copuld just tell when he scored that he has waited for it for and dreamt about it!!

I'm fairly sure Mike Doyle was a boyhood blue and IIRC so was Neil Young who lived not far from Maine Rd as a kid.

My dad played with Youngie and went to school with him as well.

He was definitely a Blue, as was Doyle.

You will go a long way before you find any better players who supported and played for the Blues than those two.

Lakey is a Blue born & bred. He might even still have the City mug I gave him when we were in Primary School together though I think he can get his hands on a few more freebies these days :-)

Got to be Mike Doyle, little story to tell about him, my older brother who is a rag used to deliver milk to Doyles house during the seventies as a weekend job, he was about 14 at the time, anyhow City had suffered a defeat at Spurs on the Saturday. Sunday morning comes around and my brother starts singing a Spurs song outside Doyles house at about 6am, after about 30 secs the front door flew open and there was Doyle in his pyjamas, my brother legged it but was soon caught by him, he grabbed my brother and give him a couple of slaps round the head and told him to do one, pissed myself when he told me :-)
