Pam I asked my old fella who has been watching us for 75 years and he said that this is the best squad he can ever remember.......ever, ever...............

HOWEVER the best 11 we can currently put out is not as good as the 1969 11.......who came from a squad of only 14.........

Corrigan, Book, Pardoe, Doyle, Booth, Oakes, Summerbee, Bell, Lee, Coleman, Young.............

they were rarely injured and were unbelievable winning 5 pots........

so our current 30 squad is the best squad. but the 69 lot were the best 11
Seconded. However, the team of '76/'77 that finished one point behind Liverpool were a fantastic unit.

Corrigan
Clements
Donachie
Doyle
Watson
Owen
Barnes
Hartford
Kidd
Royle
Tueart

One bloody point!
:-(
that was a great day pitty we won but still lost coz bin dippers had also won, TONY BOOKS BLUE AN WHITE ARMY, HELEN IS A BIG FAT FOOTBALL HOLLIGAN gr8 team but its 68 team for me always will be but im too old to change.
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT AND THE FUTURE IS BLUE

The 76/77 side under Tony Book was a great team and a joy to watch. But for an unfortunate own goal in icy conditions at home to Liverpool, giving them a point, we would have won the league that year. We also missed Colin Bell for the whole season and no-one will ever convince me that he wouldn't have been worth many more extra points over the season had he been fit and available. Such a shame we panicked and broke that team up before it fulfilled its potential. Let's hope we see it through this time and bring home some silverware.

was a big problem behind the sceans at the time, peter swales RIP wanted big mal back as an advisor, tony didnt so tony called it a day, and big mal took over the first team, the rest as they say is history.

It may not have been the best team in terms of skill and quality but still to this day in my life time you wont be the team that Keegan had in terms of entertainment. Winning promotion back to the Prem and scoring over 100 goals was awesome. Definately my favourite year.
