best decade for movies?

its a tough one as i love hitchcock and noir... but i have to say the 80's. mostly for the satirical slant in great films like robocop/total recall which make them relevant today.

no doubt the remakes will crucify them to the core.

i would go for the 80s too. most of my favorites come from this decade and second goes to 70s. 90s was when it started to become repetitive and this decade is when good movies died. only a handful would work for me this decade, like Be Kind Rewind, Anchorman, kung fu hustle, kung pow, maybe Shaun of the dead and ashamedly Enchanted

no answer to this, good question but impossible to answer.

80's arnie in terminator

gone with the wind 30's i think

ben hur 60's

saving ryan recent,etc

even laurel and hardy from the silent days.

I'll vote for the '90s:

Shawshank Redemption (My number 1 of all time)
Forrest Gump
Matrix
Saving Private Ryan
Toy Story (if you have kids, this was the movie you wanted them to pick)
Pulp Fiction
Goodfellas
Fight Club
Dumb and Dumber
Clerks
Silence of the Lambs

And I didn't love it, but it did pretty well, Titanic

80's for me,some of the best comic actors appeared in this time the likes of gene wilder, richard pryor, john candy, steve martin, chevy chase and the all so the films like flight of the navigator, the goonies,E.T,the karate kid, breakfast club!

Agreed. Although I still haven't seen Titanic, but please don't spoil it for me by telling me what happens at the end.

I loved 80s films as a kid too. Flight of the Navigator, BMX Bandits, Caddyshack, Gremlins, Terminator...
