What does not rating De jong as the best DM in the world have to do with how long people have been City fans? If it's so 'obvious'?

Chips in with a few goals and assists here and there. But he is also overrated to fuck.

Play De jong in the big games, not needed against bottom half sides.

de jong gets assists , and He should play every game. he is the only one who is up for battling against teams like stoke .. ect

When was the last time De jong set up a goal? Every time we play Stoke it ends up with us trying to break down their 10 men behind the ball, the only time they score against us is on the counter or from a set-piece. It's a myth that De jong is needed for these games. As I've said the only time he's really needed is against the top 6 when closing down is essential.

Thats because Essien is not a DMC he is a proper midfielder that does more than defend. De Jong isnt in the same universe as Essien in terms of talent

Essien vs. de Jong is a good battle, but for me the music in that video puts NDJ over the top. That song could make Robinho look like the best DM in the world!

Aside: If we had this thread last year (and I'm sure we did) how many times do you think Yaya's name would have popped up? How times change. Even we manage to suddenly underrate players once they join up.

Defensive midfielders are the worst midfielders in the game, of those that are clogging around europe De Jong isn't the best. For that matter, neither is Toure, Barry has pulled both their pants down so far this season!
