Best farewell scenes in a movie

“ I’ve seen things….. seen things you little people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire on the shoulder of Orion, bright as magnesium… ”

It's wonderful, of course (given my current location, how could I think otherwise?). But it's not of course the final scene. The final scene in the version that was butchered by the producer suits at Paramount was a silly one, that Scott and Ford both hated, of Deckard and Rachal driving off into the sunset on some mountain road.
In the Director's Cut, which restored Scott's intentions, they walk out of his apartment together — with Deckard shielding Rachal from what he thinks is going to be an assassination on her, he gives her the all clear, she gets into the lift, and he suddenly notices the origami unicorn on the floor, presumably left there by Gaff as a calling card (we know that origami is one of Gaff's passions). Then Vangelis's closing music kicks in. It is in itself a miniature masterpiece with which to close a masterpiece film from first to last.

Andy giving his toys away In Toy Story 3.

Followed the scene where they held hands whilst being pulled into the furnace! Real tear jerker that film!

Look up Rooney Mara on Youtube, talking about what makes her cry in films.
(Any excuse is good to look at the incredibly attractive — to my eye — but also attractively strange Rooney Mara. Joaquim, you got lucky, boy!)
