Best/favourite commentator?

Radio again, but Alan Green on 5 sometimes you want to throw the radio against the wall but i much prefer him than the likes of Trevor Brooking,Lawrenson, shearer etc who send you to sleep.

Cant stand Motson!!! He cant pronounce any of the foreign players names correctly!! He calls Drogba, Drogbaaaaaar! Like he has an R on the end of it!! Thats just one of them!

His pronounciation is immaculate compared to David Pleat.

What a prat! He makes the frigging names up half the time!

And not to mention "He's a hungry Hodge".

i quite like trevor francis, talks a lot of sense. like watching him on spanish football on sky on sundays

Warren Barton is really fair and unbiased. One of the more intelligent footballers.

Peter Jones on the radio, he was a bit of class. Now we are left with Alan Green

*sad face*
Indeed, Green is a complete cnut out of the very top drawer, as is Clive 'a bit special' Tyldsley.
1. Martin Tyler - He is distinct from the rest as he actually simply commentates and doesn't force his opinions on us a la Green
, he is the heir to Brian Moore but has surpassed his master

2. J Pearce , like football and loves England

Motson is past it, anyone on ITV is bland and cliched.
I like Fanzone Danny mind
"2 nil against the rags at the swamp"

Andy Grey! Hes just so balanced. He shows no bisay at all, however his one down point, he seems to not want United, Everton or Villa to do very well - he always wants the other team! I love his Scottish accent, and how he laughs at things that arent funny and arselicks everyone in football. I also love how he has his own bit on every Sunday to talk about all the things he knows about football .. as he knows so much!
sacasm intended

erm.... i quite like Jon Champion - not sure why though :/

Andy Gray

i love/hate him though

sometimes he talks proper sense and his knowledge and understanding of the game is fantastic, i love last minute goals, his reaction and the way he creates an atmosphere, sometimes he talks bollocks though and i can't stand him,

I like Alan Smith.

if anyone wants to hear the best commentary of a football match listen to david coleman,s everton v city 1981 fa cup quarter at goodison, he came out with the greatest statement after city had equalised the second time,(and it,s bedlam round the ground) david you was so right? the rest i can,t stand any of them they are so man u loving it,s transparant, the littlest move by man u is bigged up to be the best move in football? motsons coverage of the fa cup replay final was so one sided he might as well had a spuds shirt on, but the man i hate more than any of them is keys, get back to breakfast tv you rag loving scumbag?

Not really a commentator, but for me it has to be the legend that is Stuart Hall. Post-match summaries always worth waiting for on Five Live - has an ability to articulate events in a way no other broadcaster seems capable. Even the dreariest of no score draws are described with the most colourful language.

Oh yeah, and he's a Blue. Top bloke - nuff said!
